I really could use a good hair day if you know what I mean! I joke around with my students when we talk about water vapor and tell them you can measure the water vapor in the air by watching to see if teacher wears her hair straight or curly that day! It has been so hot and humid, but you won't hear me complain! It's a great reason to hang out by the pool!
It's also a great time of year to have some fun with a Christmas in July sale!
I'm linking up with a few of my fun friends and fabulously talented teachers to offer some really great deals! If you have some things on your wish list for the upcoming school year, now is a great time to beat the heat, stay inside and shop!
Let's get the party started!
Two of my best-selling items are 50% off today!
This comprehension packet was originally created to be a companion to the Daily 5 CAFE menu. It was updated to be aligned with the Common Core Standards and many more pages were added. These activities are great to use with guided reading groups as well as during whole group instruction. They can be used with any book! Another nice thing is that there are activities for a variety of reading abilities. I use some of them during RTI and some for my students who need a challenge and are reading above grade level.

While I am working with reading groups, the rest of my students are working independently on leveled books and running their own book clubs. I've created a card set with comprehension questions to use during book clubs. Each group captain picks up a card set and places them faced down in the center of the group. After reading the story, the students take turns drawing a card and reading and answering the questions. This really helps to keep everyone on task!

Thanks for stopping by today for Day 1 of Christmas in July Fun! Hope to see you back tomorrow for more deals!
Be sure to stop by and check out the awesome deals from the rest of my friends at their blogs! I know that they have best-sellers and lots of new items on sale as well! I'm right behind you!
This is 100% unteacher-related, BUT have you ever heard of a Keratin treatment?? Normally, they're like $300 but now they've come out with a version called Express Blowout and you can pay $100 for 6 weeks of like no frizz! My best friend just got one and can't stop raving. She found a girl who was willing to just do the front part (crazy fly-away city!) for $40.
ReplyDeleteLike I said, totally unrelated to anything academic but thought it would be fun to share based on your hair comment because I live in the South (although I see you're from Michigan) and COULDN'T agree more - rough having a good hair day in weather like this!
I am your newest follower :) Come stop by if you get a chance!
