We started a new genre study with tolerance and diversity as a theme this week.
The counselor in me is loving this unit! Stellaluna and
Boris and Bella are the perfect stories to use during Halloween!
The Big Orange Splot is also one of my favorite books for delivering this important message. I am going to work this one into my Halloween tolerance unit too. Why not? Orange...pumpkins...I'll make it work with the theme!
A fun activity with this book is to have each child create their own dream house and decorate it how they like! They have lots of very creative ideas! Of course, we added a big splot of orange paint to the roof!
