Let's start by getting in the spirit with some toe-tappin' music and the best show ever!
Here's a little FYI about me~
Before getting my teaching degree, I taught dance for many years. I started lessons at age four and went to college on a vocal music and dance scholarship. I had the time of my life performing and traveling. I love bringing music and performing arts into the classroom! I am a tap dancer, but my dream is to learn Irish step dancing! I have been to see Riverdance every time the performance comes to town! You have got to check out the AMAZING talent in this performance. I always show some Riverdance video clips to my students on St. Patrick's Day. They ask to watch them over and over! This is the finale!
You've got to stay with it till the end, because that is the best part! Click on the picture to watch!
Goosebumps!
Because I'm Irish, I really get into St. Patrick's Day with my kiddos.
Here's a cute little leprechaun poem freebie for your poetry folders.:) I made it in black and white too so your students can color the pictures!
This is a little leprechaun kisses treat bag topper. I like to put gold-foiled Hershey kisses inside!
Set up a sight word literacy center for the month of March with a black pot or festive shamrock bowl and add these playing card printables. Kids will have a blast with this sight word game which is a little like Left, Center, Right.
This is a fun ordering numbers activity for the SMART Board. Students drag the gold coins and place them in order from least to greatest and greatest to least.
Get out some green candies. gold coins or green bingo chips and have a fun game of shake and spill to practice sums to ten. Make it more challenging by using 20 candies in the cup!
Last year, I had a green day! Each child brought in a treat or food item to share in the green theme. Some shared green pencils, beaded necklaces and decorations too! It was such a hit that it is going to be an annual tradition. This is a picture of some of our goodies!
Remember to play some Riverdance music from the soundtrack! :)
You should head on over and link up your St. Patty's Day activities and get in on the fun!
I loved the river dance. Thank you for sharing that with us.

I love Irish dancing! I used to dance all the way up into college before becoming a teacher. My former dance studio growing up had irish dancing because we have a lot of Irish people in my hometown (Dublin, OH). Even though I'm not Irish, I feel like I have a little Irish in me. haha I'm a new follower btw! Thank you for your ideas and freebies!
